Free Book Library
This is my collection of free books and artcles, it is excerpted from my larger private collection. Selected based on what I think most other people would be interested in or be helpful. I believe knowledge, like love and happiness, is best when shared. I don't believe in putting knowledge, wisdom, general advice, information, or education behind a paywall. As a life long supporter of the GNU, FOSS Free Open Source Software, Creative Commons, Copyleft, and similar movements, I fully believe in and support the open access and free flow of knowledge. Economics should not be a factor in nor a barrier to improving both ourselves & our respective communities in regards to gaining education/knowledge/wisdom/general advice/information. As such I try to share what of these I have, freely, as well as supporting others who do so too.
This collection is divided into topics and sometimes depending on the size of the topic, subtopics. The books and articles here are arranged in a largely alphabetical (though not always perfectly so) within the topics and subtopics. Most of these are pdfs, though there are other formats such as HTML.
Everything here falls into one of the following categories:
- Public Domain
- Creative Commons, Copyleft, or some similar licenses
- Copyrighted but somewhere in the work the creator gives explicit permission to share their work
- Copyrighted but the creator has given me permission to share their work
- Copyrighted but the creator or an entity/institution has on their behalf officially shared it
- Gray Copyrighted. These are works published up until 1964 in the US. Back then the copyright had to be renewed every so often or if not it would lapse into the Public Domain. So these texts may be public domain or they may still be copyrighted. So if you plan to do anything with these texts, besides reading, use caution.
